Deuces…

I had a pretty decent week.  I haven’t sold the frogs yet, but I did lose a couple of pounds.  As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t be too heartbroken if  they didn’t sell.  Work has been kicking my butt this week, so the gym wasn’t that much of a necessity. I mean, I would come home from work and crash! I would wake up with that workout soreness, so that’s what I attributed with the weight loss.  Plus, the gym has been pushing those “”free” 7 day passes and it’s hard to gauge when the gym is gonna be crowded or not. I used to have it down to a science. People have been coming in with kids, spouses, relatives, whole communities (I kid!) and it’s hard for me to slip in during periods when I can use any piece of equipment when I wanted.  Hopefully, it settle down soon. Selfish right?

So, I’ll take the 2 pounds and hopefully multiply them by next weeks weigh in.  Deuces……..

Consequences……

It’s funny how much spam I get.  Side note; I can’t read Russian, so why spam me when I can’t read what you write? I just had to put that out there…..

Well, another uneventful week. I haven’t really been working out a whole lot this week. I’ve had a little cash flow issue that has sidetracked me a bit, which leads me to today’s topic.  Consequences……

The wife had always told me that I should balance my checkbook with every activity, but being that I don’t write that many checks and do mostly online bill paying and purchases, I never saw the need. I just go online and check my balance every now and then, and I’m fine, right? Wrong!!!   About a month and a half ago, I ordered online one of those new electronic readers, the “Nook” by Barnes and Noble. Well they were back ordered for February 1st delivery, so I paid through Paypal, printed my receipt  and absorbed the appreciation bestowed upon me by the wife. Cool…

Last Thursday, it arrived early via UPS. Once again, the wife was happy and I’m the man! The next day, Friday, is payday, so I pay some bills, take the wife to breakfast, spend on some other junk, always had in mind what i should have left. For some reason while at work that night, I decided to go online and check my account. All  I saw was ———. All of those dashes represented negatives in my account, with more pending. I had to break it to the wife in which she responded, “Have you been balancing you checkbook like you should”?  You know when you do something stupid and you don’t want anyone to acknowledge it and ask questions that can’t help the present situation, but is usually followed by them reminding you that you were warned about this type of catasthropic event? Asking her to front me the cash to throw in the bank to cover all of these overdraft charges was out of the question.

Like a good wife, she offered to give me some money to cover some of the overdraft fees, but she doesn’t have the full amount and my pride won’t allow me to let her worry about it, so I had to man up and make some sacrafices because of my actions. I had to put my babies up for sale. As much as I love my frogs, I know they can bring in a pretty penny, so off to Craigslist they went. Yes Frogs!! No not the ugly backyard toads, but these…

VARIABILIS VAREDERO2D. AURATUSSTRAWBERRY x CAYO

30 gallon HEX

Yes, Poison Dart Frogs… Expensive as hell, but really pretty, no bigger than your thumbnail.

Consequences, that what happens when you don’t take care of business!! I can’t mad at anyone but myself. I can’t be mad at Barnes and Noble for not taking the money right away and waiting a damn month and a half or however they did it to allow me on the waiting list. In the end, I’ll be alright and will probably have another hobby in mind before you read this post, cause that’s what men do.

Same thing with this working out. I half assed worked out last week, so I had got half assed results. That’s the consequences for B.S.ing around not staying focused. Don’t feel sorry for me neither. Once again, I didn’t gain anything, but lost alot and not in poundage. Sucks!!!

Non guilty pleasure 319lbs (-5lbs)

Sorry I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks. I’ve had some personal issues that’s had my head kinda cloudy. I’d start to post, then would say ” forget it” and delete whatever I jotted down. It’s all good. At least I didn’t overcompensate with food, right?

For one thing, I don’t know when in life I transitioned from the Frosted Flakes and Cap’t Crunch, to Cheerios, Bran Flakes and Oatmeal, but I’ve been consuming them alot lately!! I’ve always had one or the other on hand, but for some reason I had all three sitting on top of my refrigerator and they were in complete rotation. From morning to night, let’s just say I didn’t lose those 5 pounds from exercising.

Well,  the Dallas vs Minnesota game is on, so this is gonna be a short post. I ran out of Cheerios, so Oatmeal will have to do. I love it!!

Question? What’s your favorite “no guilt, good for you” food or meal that you can eat ’til your hearts content??

Go NY Jets!!!!

Back on Track, again…….

I had a great workout yesterday. Even felt a bit of nausea afterwards. It sounds kinda sick, but some would equate that with a good workout. I even noticed it during the “Biggest Loser” marathon the other day, where “Bob” worked a few people to total exhaustion, followed by a good hurl. I don’t think I’ll go that far, especially since I don’t have the pressure of a trainer pushing me to the max, but I’ll take the initial feeling of my stomach turning as a barometer of a good workout.

I recently met a new friend. The name is “Glucosamine Chondroitin“. I can’t say enough about this supplement.  It alleges to “promote joint mobility and flexibility“. I’ve seen commercials and marketing campaigns geared towards athletes and older people, with emphasis on alleviating knee pain. Well I’ve been taking GC for little over a week now and I have to say, halleilujah!!  I’ve felt no pain at all in my knees the morning after a workout.  At work, I sit behind a computer for hours at a time and when I get up, my knees usually ache and lock in place, especially if I get up too fast. I sometimes have to stand because my knees start to hurt from sitting too long. Not anymore. I have bounce again and the treadmill doesn’t hurt anymore. Years ago, I was diagnosed with a little arthritis around my kneecaps, so I know when I’m supposed to feel pain and stiffness. Nada, nothing.  Even the arms and shoulders feel better the day after a workout. No stiffness setting in anywhere.  Y’all don’t understand, sitting in a car too long was painful.  They are a little pricey, but well worth it. I can’t believe how good it feels not to walk like a rusty robot anymore.  Okay, enough……

The wife is also committed to working out, so it makes it much easier when both of us are on the same page. I noticed new faces at the gym and saw whole families come in with that “free week” workout coupon in hand. This one family of 5 was big, from the father to the pre teen son. Congratulations for them. The easy part is getting to the gym. The hardest part is to keep coming back, so kudos to them.  I saw a commercial for a new TLC channel reality series about an obese family struggling to lead a healthy lifestyle.  They’re all in excess of 300 lbs. I hope they find success with putting themselves out there for the public to see…..

Happy New Year…….. 324.5

First off, I hope everyone had a safe and joyous New Year celebration. With the new year, comes new hopes and expectations, as well as goals….

Yep, the numbers don’t lie!! I just let go and fell into the holiday trap.  No excuses and no sympathy needed. It is what it is.  It’s time for tough love of myself.  I’m sitting here watching the “Biggest Loser” marathon thinking of how come I can’t find that motivation to be like them and lose all that weight.  So, if anyone has $350,000 and a ranch hidden in the boonies, give me a holla:)

In the meantime,  I resolve to 1) cut the b.s. and excuses 2) literally account for all that I eat 3) don’t let myself down. That’s it, simple and plain. It’s time to wash my face and get my mind right, because it starts there.  I’ve been having small headaches for the past several days and I know it’s my blood pressure. When I was on point with the workouts and all, I didn’t have this problem. I don’t want to go on medication, so besides the vitamins and low dosage aspirins, that’s it for me.  Getting me to a doctor is like getting an elephant through a manhole, aint happenin’.

This is my New Years resolution, what’s yours?
